Taig 9.2.1 Update

Apple has released iOS 9.2.1 for the public and has already started the beta testing for iOS 9.3. The first beta for iOS 9.3 has already been seeded to Apple’s Developer Program and Public Beta Program. But that’s not what the iOS community is actually waiting for. Apple patched the iOS 9 jailbreak in the iOS 9.1 release, and since then, no update on the next jailbreak has been heard about. But rumors around the TaiG 9.2.1 jailbreak are building up since more than a couple of months now.

In case you are new to the iOS jailbreak community, the TaiG team increased its fan-base when it surprised the whole iOS community by releasing iOS 8.3 jailbreak. The team went ahead to release the next jailbreak for iOS 8.4 too. However, we haven’t heard much of the hacker group since then, and TaiG fans are awaiting a new announcement or development from the star jailbreak team. Considering the fact that iOS 9.2.1 is already ireleased [ Download iOS 9.2.1 – ext link ], TaiG 9.2.1 is probably not too far away.

Though a lot of people would not accept TaiG’s involvement in the iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak scenario, there are evidences that indicate that the TaiG team is working on the next jailbreak. Xie Lei, TaiG CEO, had shown confidence on his team’s capability to work out an iOS 9 jailbreak. Also, the TaiG team had also pointed out an important exploit in iOS 9 and was credited by Apple for the same. All these incidents tell us that TaiG is not sitting idle and is surely developing the TaiG 9.2 – 9.2.1 Jailbreak.
On the other hand, even iOS 9.2.1 does not look like a big improvement over iOS 9.2, as the “.1” increment in the naming scheme doesn’t look like a big growth. It will probably come with a few bug fixes and performance improvements, and we don’t expect any new features. However,  iOS 9.2.1 will be a better option for TaiG to build a jailbreak for. Because iOS 9.2 will probably fade away in the next month, and iOS 9.2.1 will be a tad more stable and speedier, thus making it a better firmware to jailbreak.
Anyway, we expect the TaiG 9.2.1 jailbreak to be released after Apple releases the iOS 9.2.1 firmware which has happened already. Meanwhile, TaiG will get more time to work out the exploits.
