iOS 9.2.1 Released!
As stated previously, being the fifth iOS 9 update, 9.2.1 doesn’t really offer any noticeable changes – aside from correcting an MDM server issue (multiple account management for enterprise), the following is the extent of iOS 9.2.1’s changelog:
This update contains security updates and bug fixes, including a fix for an issue that could prevent the completion of app installation when using an MDM server.Unfortunately, the worthwhile features won’t arrive in iOS until the next major update, iOS 9.3, which currently doesn’t have a public release date.
Jailbreak And iOS 9.2.1
The Next Jailbreak: Two Scenarios
Hence the reasoning as to why iOS 9.3 may have set things back as far as jailbreaking is concerned, TaiG may ultimately decide to wait for iOS 9.3 before dropping their new jailbreak.
However, the second possibility is that the group may rush a utility to jailbreak iOS 9.2.1 if any of the following conditions are true: iOS 9.3 closes vulnerabilities intended for exploitation, TaiG has a surplus of useable exploits, they feel as though we’ve waited long enough and assume an attitude of “if not now, when?”
Concluding Thoughts
Ultimately, we should see a new jailbreak soon, especially if Apple waits to release iOS 9.3 until the spring and TaiG opts for an iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak.
